I heart plywood anything

I've been thinking about a name for a very long time, and it has to be the hardest part of the entire process of starting a business. I did finish my page layout though, I kept it simple.

I purchased a plywood beauty today it could maybe pass as the big brother to the Eames Lounge Chair. Oh how my heart yearns for thee.

But for now I am content with Big Brother.

Identity

So I watched an episode of Hoarders today, I have to admit I never realized that a person can live in such clutter and be okay with it. I mean some of the individuals on the show just make me sick, but then I feel horrible because it may be a mental issue, due to depression, anxiety, loss of a loved one, but by all means its not going to get any better living in such horrid conditions. It really sickens me. Anyways the psychologist on the show said something useful to the hoarder today

" If you're defining yourself as a handyman, it's fine if the reason you do it is that you are actually fixing and building things, on the other hand if you're deriving that sense of identity because of the things you own, then you are actually fooling yourself"

Wonderful quote! I see many people today calming to be this and that, without having proper knowledge or experience of a particular field, or genre. I mean just because you own a couple of cook books does not make you Julia Child, and just because you purchased a brush set on sale from Hobby Lobby, you are not suddenly Picasso, and just because you have a bedroom clothed in the latest contemporary furniture with self supporting shelves, you are not an interior designer. People need to stop fooling themselves. Its time we all find one thing we are good at and become experts at it. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying its wrong to venture and try new things, I'm all for adventure, but please do us all a favor and don't title yourself as such and such until you are qualified. Just my two cents. Night.

new finds

Today was a good day. I finished writing a proposal, sent out my portfolio to a firm, went shopping, and found some interesting items, worked out, cooked dinner, and watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, oh and played with Nimbus until he got tired! anyways I found some neat vases, and a whole lot of Christmas items on sale. I haven't decided what exactly I will do with the shiny green leaves, but I'm sure I will find a way to use them. i think i will call it a night. ciao!

I will figure out what to do with the treasures I found today..

to top it all off, I made some creamy tomato soup, with veggies, Alfredo pasta, and chicken. It was perfect for a cold cold day. When I make soups I just add a whole lot of ingredients and pray it turns out well, so far this strategy has never failed. or maybe my husband's taste buds just love everything I cook. :)

i can't stop thinking, i even dreamed it.

So I cant stop thinking about a plan I will soon propose. I kept thinking about it in my sleep, not to mention my cat Nimbus wants all the attention when I sleep. So lets just say I tossed and turned a lot. He's my new baby. I wasn't sure how my husband would react to living with a cat, since the only pet he ever had was a rabbit, but he LOVES Nimbus, I mean how could you not, just look at the cute Persian Chinchilla.

Anyway, I am going out today to purchase some items, which I shall add to my inventory. I will scout some vintage shops and perhaps some antique stores and see what I find. In the mean time I will leave you with some pictures of a flower bouquet I made for a dear friend.

i've been thinking

so our apartment is almost complete! actually I take that back. I don't suppose it can ever be complete, because I always keep finding things that I like. As much as I agree with minimalism, and try to strive towards it, at least in design, I'm not sure if in other aspects I can ever be a true minimalist. I am working on a book shelf to add to the family room. I took an old traditional bookshelf, and altered it to my liking. I am a big advocate of DIY projects, and in the new future I hope to add creative projects, which can be easily done by anyone.

Speaking of projects, I have a big project on mind, which I shall announce in the next couple of days. Lets just call it a really big design project. In the mean time, I will leave you with some pictures of "things" I have, and <3.>

the item pictured below, has to be one of the smartest designed items at Ikea, if you do not have one, I highly suggest you purchase it. It will save you space, clutter, and its actually kinda cute looking.
